“Handyman” is a vague term that usually describes someone who does odd jobs, and is without a specialization. While I am indeed quite handy, I try to focus on the type of work for which I am uniquely qualified. I spent 2 years learning the craft of traditional furniture making at a renowned school in Coastal Maine, and have traveled to several different states, as well as England, to become a certified dry stone waller. I have a very well-equipped wood shop and a lot of specialized tools that you won't find at Home Depot.

Any work that involves making things from solid wood or building with natural stone is likely of interest to me. However, I also enjoy making house calls and fixing things for nice people. I prefer to repair things rather than replace them, and solving problems for others gives meaning to my work.

If you are looking for someone to do menial labor, and exchange their time for your money, I am probably not right for the job. But even if that's the case, I always try to point people in the right direction, and give them an idea of how they might find Someone who's well aligned for the work they are looking to have done.
